Silver Bullion - What are silver ingots (silver
bars)?
What are silver ingots (silver bars)? Silver ingots as defined here are in essence
silver bullion bars (silver bars) of 10 oz or less. In addition, unlike
silver bullion bars (silver bars) exceeding 10 troy ounces or more, silver ingots in many
instances have a collector’s value attached to it, especially those
featuring designs such as the German Iron Cross and other interesting designs or artwork. Silver ingots
with design or artwork on it are called silver art bars. In fact, Silver
Bullion is not aware of a single silver ingot with collector's value that doesn't have some
form of design or artwork on it. Thus, when we refer to silver art bars here, it will be always be in reference
to silver ingots (silver bars) with a collector's value attached to it.

Furthermore, it's no secret that silver bullion bars (silver bars) come in different
sizes ranging from as small as less than 1 oz to as large as a 1000 oz, although the
standard sizes are: 1 oz, 5 oz, 10 oz, 100 oz and a 1000 oz. As
indicated above and elsewhere, we prefer to refer to silver bullion bars (silver bars) of 10 oz or less
as silver ingots. The primary reason for this is simply
because we are of the opinion that size matters greatly when it comes to investing in or owning silver bullion
bars (silver bars), especially if one considers factors such as affordability, ease of storage, ease of handling, etc.
