Silver Education: Silver’s worth expressed in hard
labour
Silver Bullion, 13 February
2012
Chris Duane of the Sons of Liberty Academy had recently made
an interesting video titled: The Historical Case For $960 Silver. Chris explains in the video how a
tenth of an ounce of silver was historically paid for 12 hours of hard
human labour, which was more than enough to cater to the average family’s needs in terms of food,
shelter and more.
Yes, you’ve read correctly, a
tenth of an ounce (1/10) of silver was historically paid for 12 hours of hard
human labour, which was more than enough to cater to a family’s needs in terms of food, shelter and more.
During the height of the Roman Empire the average worker/soldier earned a Silver Denarius, which was equal to
more or less a tenth of an ounce (1/10) of silver, for 12 hours of hard human labour (or fighting in the case of
the Roman soldier). Given the fact that the average worker/soldier earns about $8 per hour in the United States
today, which works out to $96 for 12 hours’ work ($8 x 12 hours), one can safely assume that the implied value
of a tenth of an ounce (1/10) of silver expressed in modern terms, but based on historic facts, should be more
or less $96. Now given the fact that one ounce of silver is equal to 10 times a tenth of an ounce (1/10) of
silver, it means that silver true worth expressed in modern terms should be closer to $960 an ounce and not the
current silver price of more or less $34 an
ounce. In addition, if one considers that factory workers in the United States earned about 10 cents or a
Dime a day at the turn of the century, which is equal to more or less a tenth of an
ounce (1/10) of silver, then one cannot help but to think that silver, unlike fiat currencies, tends to maintain its purchasing
power quite nicely. In fact, who of you will betray a friend, not even to mention the Creator, for 15 ounces of
silver, especially considering that it is allegedly worth just over $500 (more or less R4000) expressed in the
paper-manipulatedsilver price of today? Well, we can think of some
dirty evil scoundrels that will betray for even less, but it should be safe to assume that the bulk of humanity
will refuse to betray even a stranger for more or less $500, especially if it means that the betrayed party is
going to be murdered. Now if one takes the implied worth of 15 ounces of silver, expressed in modern terms, but
based on historic fact, then we get to a monetary value of more or less $14 400 ($960 x 15 troy ounces) or R115
200. Now needless to say, there would be more people willing to betray for a payment/reward of $14 400 than a
payment/reward of just over $500. Thus, in terms of a historic perspective expressed in modern terms, Judas
Iscariot betrayed Jesus Christ for 15 ounces of silver (30 pieces of silver) or just more than $14 000 (R115
200). This makes sense, especially if one considers that the 30 pieces of silver were used by the priests to buy
a field or piece of land after Judas return the money and committed suicide. Now needless to say, it will be
difficult, if not impossible, to buy a field or piece of land for $500 or R4000 today. It is however most
definitely possible to buy a field or piece of land for $14 400 or a R115 000. Furthermore, it should be
interesting to note that a third of the world population is forced today to survive on less than $2 a day, which
is less than a tenth of an ounce of silver. It is no wonder so many people are totally dependent on government
handouts and that the bulk of humanity are heading for full-blown slavery.
Given the above, good news is that the
average worker/soldier can still afford to buy/acquire silver, physical silver that is, before the current
global fiat Ponzi scheme utterly and completely
collapses. You don’t have to betray anyone, but have to take action, because it is not simply going to drop in
your lap like the case is with fiat based entitlement programs. Don’t miss out on this golden (silver)
opportunity to be able to survive in the future at a fraction of the cost… where 1 ounce of silver will buy 10
consecutive days of hard human labour, 10 ounces 100 days, 100 ounces 1000 days, 1000
ounces 10 000 days… not even to mention what it will buy in terms of food, shelter and other necessities of
life. Be sure to watch the video below for Chris’s unaltered take on why silver should currently be trading at
$960 an ounce…
