Silver Bullion - Rust
Free
Silver is rust free. It will not and cannot rust in
the true sense of the word. The reason being is because silver doesn’t react with water or pure air to form
reddish brown rust. Silver tarnishes. It forms a black deposit when exposed to water or air containing hydrogen
sulfide and ozone. Good news is that this black deposit can easily be cleaned off with diluted hydrochloric acid. It’s however
not that easy to clean off rust. This tips the scale in the favour of silver, especially when compared to other
metals that do rust.
