Generic silver rounds, as the title suggests, refers to silver rounds that don’t display the hallmark or the name of the manufacturer/mint/refinery. Generic silver rounds tend to sell at lower premiums or mark ups than name-brand silver rounds. It is pretty much the same situation with other no name or generic products that are usually cheaper than name-brand products. This makes it an ideal investment for some silver investors, especially those who like to make a “double play” at the lowest possible premium or mark up.

In addition to the above, all the generic silver rounds produced over the years had been minted and issued by private manufacturers/mints/refineries that usually consist of small, unknown firms. A great deal of these firms is out of business today, and those who remain in business, are for most part still unknown to the average silver investor not to speak of the public at large.
