Grade sensitive areas are those areas on a coin’s surface where imperfections such as “hairlines”
(small hardly visible lines) and scratches are more visible than on other areas of the coin. Needless to say,
the more damage a coin has on its grade sensitive areas or parts, the greater the negative impact on a coin’s grading.
